Big Horn, Goat Rocks Wilderness July 23 – 25

CANCELED - On July 23 – 25 (Friday-Sunday) I'll be leading a Chemeketan Club Climb up "Big Horn" in the Goat Rocks Wilderness Area. This trip is rated R1. This is a chance to explore a new area – the Goat rocks, which are an alpine mountain group North of Mt Adams. Scrambling opportunities abound here. For this trip I’m planning on heading up “Big Horn” which is on a ridge leading up to Mount Curtis Gilbert. We will ascend a gully and chimney system on the south face. The only technical part is a short steep crack that is either Becky 4th class or Yosemite 5.4. Our approach will be from snowgrass flats and road 2150. If we have extra time and energy we might also grabb nearby summits like "Little Horn" or head up Mount Curtis Gilbert.
