Our June 6-8th climb provided us with a window to get to a camp at 8,600 ft but the winds never subsided and we abandoned out 2:30 am start.

Planning Meeting: 6:30 PM on Monday, May 30th at the Niemeyer house in Silverton. We will discuss teh plan and review gear needs.

Monday June 6th - Day 1 - Drive to Timberline Lodge and hike up to base-camp.
- 8:30am - Meet at Mike's house in Silverton. Go through individual and group gear and do final packing.
- 9:30 am leave for REI Tualatin to pick up rental gear.
- 10:45 leave Tualatin for Mt Hood.
- 12:15 Assemble at Timberline lodge Parking lot, have a sandwich, pick up permits and blue bags.
- 1:00 pm- Head up the climbers trail east of the ski area.
- 4 pm - Arrive at about 8,600 at the top of, and east of, the Palmer ski area. We will look for a suitable site and shovel-out a snow camp. Set up tents, melt water, etc. Get to bed early.
Tuesday, June 7th, Day 2 - Summit Day
- Approximately 2am - depart from camp for summit.
- Rope up at hogsback
- Summit via old chute route (may use pearly gates depending on conditions)
- Return to hogsback and get out of harnesses & ropes.
- Return to camp
- Break camp and return to Timberline parking lot.

Leader will supply pickets, rope, stove shovels and wands for distribution among the team. Leader will also carry small bivy sack and sleeping bag and first aid kit, cell phone and SPOT rescue beacon on summit day.
